Stratherrick is situated 17 miles from
Inverness.
It lies between Inverness and Fort Augustus on the B862.
The valley of Stratherrick is considered to be the undiscovered
side of Loch Ness and has many spectacular features. It is
sheltered by the Monadhliath Mountains and has an abundance
of Lochs. Stratherrick is also famous for its wildlife and
you can expect to see buzzards, peregrines, red squirrel and
deer.
Stratherrick School is situated in the village of gorthleck
and was built in 1977. It has spectacular views over Loch
Mhor.
There are currently 29 pupils in the school who travel from
various areas of Stratherrick. Stratherrick is rich in both
history and natural beauty and this is reflected in our choices.
Historically, we have included a flavour of The Ancient Picts,
The Jacobites, General Wade and Bonnie Prince Charlie, while
Loch Mhor gives an insight into the areas natural beauty.
