The open-air theatre at Ness Islands
In the center of the Ness Islands can be seen the remains of an open-air theatre, built in 1950-51. During the summer months, entertainments were held in the pavilion. Fairy lights hung from the trees greatly added to the attractiveness of the site.

Open-air dancing was another popular feature and there were roller-skating sessions on a specially adapted floor. From September 3rd-8th, 1951, the pageant of Inverness was held here with about 30 horses from the Highland Riding Club taking part.
